Bedtime

Trophy Hub: Do you want me to sing you a song?

Bubba: Yes.

TH: Sunshine?

Bubba: No.

TH: Twinkle?

Bubba: No.

TH: Ok, Bubba, what do you want me to sing to you?

Bubba: Who let the dogs out.

Die hards

My boys take after their dad in so many ways. Here's one....
Going out on the boat in winter coats!
What is going on here? Is my 3 year old really drinking Mountain Dew Throwback? Wow...I don't think I want to know what goes on while I'm working during the day.
They had fun. We are really itching for spring and summer. These few nice days have been wonderful and we have made the most of them.

I'm going to ignore the fact that it is snowing as I type this because it will be gone soon enough!

Sutliff

Tonight we met friends at Sutliff. Friends that live in Kansas City and we don't get to see often, but when we do there are many stories told and laughs shared.
Here is Sutliff Store. A place where you can stick dollar bills to the ceiling, eat greasy food and drink soda out of a can.

The boys got to throw rocks and tree branches into the rising Cedar River. This is such a boy thing to do. They were drawn to it like a magnet.
This is what is left of the historic Sutliff Bridge after the 2008 flood swept away the rest. I remember walking across the bridge the first time Trophy Hub took me there.Add Image

The river was really moving tonight and it was very eerie. There was also some flooding in the fields near there. I know it wouldn't be anything like 2008 but to be honest, it still freaks me out a little bit.

Spring break and summer break

I wanna go on vacation! Waaaahhhhhhh!!!!

I'm done.

Instead of focusing on how I'm not somewhere tropical right now, I'm going to focus on the bright side. The bright side is....

  • I'm NOT getting behind at work.
  • I'm enjoying unseasonably warm temps here in Iowa.
Ok, that's all I can think of.

On a separate note, Trophy Hub and I are thinking of packing up the family truckster and heading to Pigeon Forge, TN this summer. Why, you ask? Because Trophy Hub said jokingly "Let's go to Dollywood", I googled it and the rest is history. How much fun are we going to have?? Has anyone ever been there? We're excited.

We're also trying to find a place to go...just Trophy Hub and me. We usually go somewhere every September, just the two of us, because it is after both of our birthdays and our anniversary. This year, we may try to go in May because September is going to be hectic with all 3 boys in school! Any suggestions?

Ewwww

Ever wondered what carrots look like when they're left by the back door for a few days?

Now you know.

Sorry.

Traitor

At our new local restaurant, the following conversation was had with the waitress standing at the table:

Bubba: BELCH!

Me: Bubba, say "excuse me".

Bubba: Excuse me. Heheeeee! I burped like Mommy!

Traitor.

It's my party...

I didn't mean to freak anyone out with my last post.

Everything is fine.

Really.

Life is just very busy.

And sometimes I just get overwhelmed.

And sometimes I have a pity party.

Most times I have a pity party for one.

The other day, I decided to have my pity party on my blog that I didn't think anyone read.

Come to find out lots of people read.

And lots of people care about me and love me.

Thank you.

Young love

Last night Peanut had his Kindergarten music concert. Here he is leading the way. Not only was it adorable, I was very impressed at how good the kids did! It was (literally) standing room only in the elementary gym.
Here is Peanut's girlfriend. She is the female version of him and is cute as a bug. I think it's adorable at this age. If they were teenagers it may be trouble. Just check out the outfit. No only do I like her style (black, white and pink, seriously!), but I love the fact that her parents let her wear the cowboy boots. That totally rocks.

I love seeing little girls wearing tutus, mismatching shoes or just crazy outfits in general. My boys could care less what they wear, so there is little drama around here in that department. Peanut picks his outfits out most of the time and does a pretty good job getting them to match. He goes sort of have Trophy Hub disease though and thinks if he has red pants he should wear a red shirt. Even if it's a different shade. Maybe even especially if it's a different shade.

Anyway...I did get to meet the girlfriend's parents and they were fabulous. We decided that we should get to know each other since we'll be planning a wedding someday.

P.S. I didn't take pictures of both of them from behind on purpose. They are both just very hard to catch to photograph.
